DANGERS:
Sulfuric Acid is present. This can cause severe burns and blindness.
No smoking. Also there should be no sparks or flames present when working near Lead Acid Batteries.
Keep metal objects away from the battery's terminals.
Potentially explosive gases are present. Wear safety glasses.
Do not tip the battery.
Make sure Vent Caps are level and tight.
Keep out of reach of children.
If acid comes into contact with your eyes, flush with water and get immediate medical attention.
Never add acid to a battery. Refer to manufacturer’s maintenance instructions.
Lyte-Lock™ Battery Cover Installation
Never perform battery maintenance with the cover installed.
Make sure to wear safety goggles, gloves, and protective clothing when working with Lead Acid batteries.
Refer to Battery Safety information and follow manufacturer’s safety instructions.
Remove vent covers only in a well ventilated area.
Remove Battery Vent Cover/Covers.
Do not allow the battery acid to come into contact with bare skin.
Place Lyte-Lock™ Battery Cover on top of the battery. Make sure white portions of the battery cover are facing up.
Push cover onto battery so that it is flat with the surface of the battery and so that holes on cover are aligned with the venting holes on the battery.
Replace vent cover. Make sure the vent cover snaps into place. Vent cover should always be flat and attached securely.
Replacement of Used Lyte-Lock™ Battery Cover
Never perform battery maintenance with the cover installed.
Make sure to wear Safety Goggles, Gloves, and protective clothing when working with Lead Acid batteries. Refer to battery maintenance guide.
Check color of the Lyte-Lock™ openings during routine battery maintenance. If the exposed white areas on the Battery Cover have started to change colors, it is time to replace.
Remove vent covers only in a well ventilated area.
Remove Battery Vent Cover/Covers.
Remove used Lyte-Lock™ Battery Cover.
Replace with a new Lyte-Lock™ Battery Cover by following the installation instructions.
There is a potential acid exposure. Handle used battery cover with care and throw away.
Do not touch the used cover with bare skin.
